Announcing Short Story and Poem of the Month

At a recent editorial meeting, the Writer’s Edit team decided that we’d love to start publishing short stories and poems on our beloved online mag again. We want to celebrate the best of the best, which is why we’ve opted to publish only one short story and one poem per month… Check out our submission guidelines below!

Short Story and Poem of the Month

We’re currently open to submissions for our featured short story and poem of the month!

  • Now until August 1 = submissions for September short story/poem of the month
  • August 1 – September 1 = submissions for October short story/poem of the month
  • September 1 – October 1 = submissions for November short story/poem of the month
  • October 1 – November 1 = submissions for December short story/poem of the month

Short stories can be up to 3,000 words long, while poems can be up to four pages.

We’re looking for super high quality, polished submissions.

The selected works will still go through a vigorous editorial process with one of our experienced editors.

To submit your work, please go to this page and use ‘Short Story of the Month Submission’ or ‘Poem of the Month Submission’ as your subject line. Please attach your work as a .doc/.docx file. If you do not do this, your work may not be read.

All correctly submitted works will be read and responded to within four weeks.
