However, with the promise of a “writerly trick late in (the novel, that) wipes out any possible resistance to the book’s initial shortcomings”, and Janet Maslin from The New York Times claiming that it “has the muscle to overpower its readers,” we’re certainly keen to experience the new story created by the acclaimed author for ourselves.
