Writer Workspace – Sur Bourke

Toby Estate Coffee @ Sur Bourke Espresso Bar!

Well writers, we seem to be on fire lately with finding quirky little spots for you. Sur Bourke Espresso Bar is a quaint little space full of creative energy for artists from all walks of life. With a vintage bike hoisted up in proud display on the wall, and echoes of a bygone Paris with multiple Eiffel Tower prints and French flags, you can almost imagine this place as a home to the Lost Generation. Though, perhaps Fitzgerald, Gertrude Stein and Hemingway would swap the Toby Estate Coffee for copious amounts of alcohol and cigarettes.

We were lucky enough to be introduced to Sur Bourke’s by a writer-friend of ours. Our ideas were flowing, the coffee was delicious, the Wifi was free and there were power points for our dying Macs… No wonder the place was filled with like-minded folk, going about their own creative business.

Check it out at 266-8 Bourke Street, Darlinghurst, and be sure to grab one of their stamp cards if you plan on coming back again!
