If you’re working on an ongoing fiction project:
Take a small instance or moment within your story – make it big! Explore your protagonist’s feelings deeply, and go deeper, how do they feel about this scenario? What do these feelings reveal about them as a person? What does it reveal about your story or themes?
If you just feel like writing?
Try ‘free-writing’ – our favourite one right now is “I remember…” Simply pick a memory, significant or insignificant, whether it’s a mundane train journey or an epic night of your life, it doesn’t matter – just start writing.
