More Changes to the Publishing World – HarperCollins CEO Resigns

“Victoria Barnsley, one of the most powerful figures in British publishing, has unexpectedly announced that she is leaving the company at the end of this week” – Jon Stock, The Guardian.

This surprise resignation has followed the ‘radical’ change in structure of publisher HarperCollins and its parent company News Corp. News Corp has “split in two, separating off its publishing arm, which includes HarperCollins and News International in the UK, from 21st century Fox, its TV and film business” as well as moved the management of HarperCollins Australia, New Zealand and India from the UK to the US.

Replacing Victoria Barnsley as CEO, is the CEO of Pottermore.com, Charlie Redmayne, who has previous experience with HarperCollins as their Chief Digital Officer.
