Nanowrimo is about to hit! Only a few more weeks until writers from all around the world are typing and scribbling away madly...

Have you always wanted to write a novel? Have you already got an idea? Have you started work on your manuscript but you just need a bit of extra support? If you haven't heard of NaNoWriMo before, now's your chance to find out more and sign up. NaNoWriMo is National Novel Writing Month. From the 1st of of November to the 30th, novelists from all around Australia unite for "thirty days and nights of literary abandon". Interested yet?

Currently in its 15th year with many success stories behind it, Nanowrimo offers support, advice and a community for anyone who's ever dreamed of writing their own novel. The idea is to write 50,000 words in a month (no, we're not joking), which makes a great first draft. Half a million people are set to participate over all seven continents, including a writer in Antarctica, according to their press release.

With a line-up of published authors keen to take over the Nanowrimo Twitter account, as well as offer letters of wisdom to aspiring writers, if you've ever thought of writing a novel… now's the time to do it.
