Frequently Asked Questions

What is Writer's Edit?

Writer’s Edit is a young online literary magazine created especially for writers and lovers of books. Founded in July 2013, the magazine is home to short works of fiction, writing and book-related news, as well as advice and inspiration for emerging authors. To find out more, click here.

Who runs it?

Writer's Edit is run by a small but dedicated team of wordsmiths who all have varied experience and education in the creative writing and publishing industries. Check out staff biographies here.

Is there a print version?

Currently there is no print version, mainly because our online mag gets updated numerous times a week (which is better for you guys!). However, as much as we love our technology and e-readers, a part of us will always remain old-fashioned at heart, which is why we publish the Kindling anthologies. These are annual print books containing work by writers from all around Australia and the world.

How do I submit to the magazine?

We're always looking for fresh and engaging stories to publish. Visit our general submissions page to view our guidelines.

Do contributors get paid?

As Writer's Edit is so young, we're still finding our feet and therefore unfortunately, are not in a position to compensate our writers. In the near future, we're hoping to put a revenue-share system in place, but currently all our wordsmiths, including us, work for love, not money.
